Creative camaraderie!
Nice article in the Sunday Times art section, on life long collaborations between artists today! I love it when artists serve and champion one another’s gifts rather than compete. You see it in comedy often when both people are confident in their gifts, and can be humble and serve and even help the other’s talents shine more brilliantly. Inspiring.
Building one another up as you are restoring the walls of the city makes sense to me, from Nehemiah and Ezra’s days-been reading Nehemiah, what a great tale about unity building! Take the ego out, and put unity and your gifts in instead, and great things can happen-a whole city can be rebuilt, in fact. I see it even on great interviews between artist—both shine brighter for having yielded. It’s true in ministry or any other field as well! It’s true between the creatures as well.
One day the lion and lamb will hang out, though Woody Allen claims the lamb won’t sleep! One of my favorite end times jokes. It’s suspicious!
But, nice seeing art giants play like kids instead of moving in insecurity! Makes sense, these two were friends over the years! It’s the right spirit. Also interesting looking at these two, to see how their art flowed from and was an extension of who they were—even physically! Symbolic expression flows from core identity-you can see them in their art. I love Miro’s stuff, but we got to see Calder’s work in Bilbao Spain, years back–remarkable, kinetic wonder! Our resident squirrel and cat agree! Nice Sunday read anyway!
Camaraderie!
