When we pray for people, neighborhoods or cites and nations, we are with Christ as Priest. We are going in between God and humanity with Him. From this place, we are able to see more of the picture surrounding a particular situation. We may then be given a task of translating this vision in practical ways so that it may be implemented on earth through the kings. That is the role of the prophet-to express things of the Spirit, in a way which people can then choose to implement. The art of prophecy requires one to desire to communicate God’s Mind and Heart in the exact way that God is desiring to communicate into that situation. So there is a vision aspect, and a communication aspect.
