Union with His Trusting…

Jesus’ trusting in the Father—that space i meant to be our home. We enter into union with Jesus ongoing trust of His Father! That is where we also are secure, accepted, beloved, seen and known. The goal of Christianity is to be caught up in this space of The Son’s trust in The Father!
To be in Jesus trust of The Father!!! That aligns everything! Sin is put in its right place, and  the true self is revealed. There is peace and comfort, and Reality, in that space between the Son and His Father.

being led…

As many who are led, are becoming the sons and daughters of God…
The goal is to be lead-able in every area of life. So we are actually able to be led by His Spirit in each area. We have areas of resistance based on wounds and experience—don’t trust women bec of abuse, so that area it is hard to be led by. But the goal is to heal , so we can be led by….to be led by the Spirit in our sex life. To be led by the spirit in our finances. To be led by the spirit in our friendships (even if we have lack of trust there etc.) Our goal is to be led—“as many who are becoming”….

A Monk’s Post

Discovered this prayer today:
A monk’s prayer I found today: my own translation. Prayers aren’t always short, as I’ve often proven. But this one, felt worthy of print-even virtual print!

I find it fascinating, the idea of praying for Jesus. Not that He needs it, but maybe, we do. That’s a prayer person’s ultimate privilege- taking it to da limit! Of course, He is also always praying for us, but i like this monk’s first step. How can I bless Jesus today? Enough about me, more about Thee. A bit of the John the Baptist thing—i must decrease, so He can increase.
I’m not a great translator, but here goes:
“We can relate to a few of His needs through our own dusty and partial versions of suffering, but can we enter The Father’s heart for Jesus Himself. Can we pray with the Father, for the Son. Of course, we are privileged to even be in that room, but I’m interested in that space. Can we offer our sufferings into His. Can we fellowship with His Sufferings, and then overflow outwards to partner with Him in His labors for others. Can we separate our soul needs and complaints, from His Needs? So that, we are not just ministering from our soul-power-or best intentions, but from His Spirit’s Power, which lives in that space between Father and Son.
Can we consecrate our sufferings until they stream into His, as David did in many of his best poem prayers? As Jeremiah did, while watching Jerusalem fall, as later Paul did, in chains. Can we make our prayers, His, so that they become the spirit of His Testimony, the essence of His Story—i.e. can we become, in short, living
acts of prophecy. Or as David put it—“I want to be a portent.” By praying for Him, in other words, can we contextualize our own sufferings in His. So we see ourselves as an instance of His suffering and His Glory!
(I like how this monk is always self-commentating as well. I relate to that awareness in prayer.)
Praying for Jesus today…I never think of praying for Him, just with Him, and pray what He is praying (that’s where prayer authority is), but today, i thought, hey, I will pray for Jesus, as if He were a friend (since He is). Were the disciples meant to be praying for Jesus when they fell asleep? I don’t want to fall asleep, I want to pray for You, in your hour  of need.
Of course, it was for their good to pray and stay awake for Jesus, but still, why not pray for your best friend and teacher. It is for our good and transformation to tune into Jesus’ needs.
Plus, people who pray together, get to know one another on another level. Today, He let me pray for Him, which was cool.
Praying for Jesus was like overhearing the Father’s thoughts about His Son. I love being caught up in that space between them-Father and Son (the whole universe is caught up in that conversation really!)—
It’s, also, personally transformative of course, it changed me, because when I drew near, my name was whispered–our true self is illuminated in intercession, like Peter, when we see who Jesus, our own names are revealed—you see who I am, so I will show you who you are. The way to know ourselves is to seek to know and care about His Life. I will keep praying for Jesus, even if it is just for my own sake.”
I like this monk, and it was bold or even brazen of him to pray for Jesus. I also have found it true, that we get to know one another on another level, when we pray together.—spirituality is higher than religion. When we are moving in His Spirit together, we transcend our religious experiential baggage. The letter of the law, becomes the heart of the law.

I often tell couples, just pray together, and you will see each other through Him more, and less through your projections onto one another; and things tend to just sort themselves out in that space. Prayer cuts through lots of false ways of seeing ourselves, others and situations.
That’s the challenge this monk’s prayer left me with today anyways. Glad to come across it. One way to start, may be to consider praying “for” Jesus (this one who ever lives to pray and intercede for us), then perhaps we will be led to praying with Him; but we will at least have been given a new portion of His Father’s Heart for His Son, and through that for ourselves and the world.
Not that Jesus needs our prayers, i suppose it is mainly for us. But tuning into His Needs, transforms us. And puts us into a position where we are not constantly concerned with our own needs. We start to pray for others then, more from His Heart. We start to see our own trials as trails into Him and His. At least we join into, a monk’s best prayer. Thankful to find this one today. Sorry again for it’s longevity.

Cricket Song

The Crickets came alive here, last night in Texas!
(had to write a little poem for our frenetic re-awakened friends)

And the crickets sang like electrical jazz, just for us tonight.
Stopping suddenly, in energetic pauses/waits, wakes in
perfect response to our footstep’s weight-
little power stations temporarily shut down
Then, just at the right instances, they buzzed on again
shaking their tiny soul’s awake, as we listened
to these unseen creatures who know
how to bend and come in and out of time-based on energy and rhyme. their silent electric violin lessons, in waiting, vibrating dark wet leaves…succumbing to
our inconsistencies, until we agree
with evening’s release, and what they bring us to re-member.
The buzzing of Life which never ends,
returns, somehow always, in sync.

2 Poems

#1
the camera was turned off. i
was standing still before things
i started to keep a diary of moments
before i began, just to recall, The Glory of it all.

#2
when Peter looked down, he nearly drowned
His Face and Hand is all I want to see repeatedly
for the waters have dragoned beneath my feet, as a seemingly endless dark snake
far below a gate breaks open unseen by TV, not on internet
and the sunset came just as i was learning to levitate

Prayer Poem

Up in the Clouds, high on dream
i see the light passing through the dust gleams below…endless seams and contours
sparkling in life, singing in line, through death’s contours, we shine.
the words eternal are kept out of rhyme
until we come, in time, and start to shine as spaces unseen-burnt Life spots!
Us, as somehow needed, flecks to see by. flares in the dark for Love’s landings.

the process of being prepared…

My process of preparation
Preparing for travel today: hair dye, right costumes, lots of prayer, clear directives, focus and style, making art on my way out always shows me what matters, aha that what this trip is about…being readied, flexible, improvisationally available in da Spirit to express what needs to be downloaded-to move in any direction. Once I had a dream of juggling fish—each one (all sorts weights and sizes!) would be thrown to me at random intervals, i had to adjust to make it smooth and fun. That still seems true as part of my way. The basics. I like doing shooting backstage—the process of preparation is my discipleship. All of life is training, getting ready for a bigger show to come! Down here, we are in rehearsal. Being transformed as we live through each gesture. Every stage of life another medium through which to meet Him-every move, every mistake, every success, a teaching. I love preparing to step on stage. And the backstage itself, is the stage for me—the unseen roots where formation takes place; later, the fruit is obvious! A tree is known or seen by its fruit, but the root work is the deeper part! The art part of me, likes to stay sharp so the other parts of me have options. You are given the overall outline, and the content—faith and love; then you kind of just show up and say yes repeatedly (trust the process), and watch the collaboration unfold. Afterwards you access—look at patterns. At least that’s how it works for me. Having fun prepping for a little trip this week. I have a plan, but i expect the unexpected, and am warming up, getting loose for it. So the dance can be beautiful. Life is interesting!

Make me…

To chime You-lines
from time to time
while standing clearly on the tight rope
of Your Being. Somewhere between cities and stars…
like on that red rocking horse as a boy, us corralling the moon and sky together
To walk before the cheers or silence of man below
wearing the flashy suit of Your Grace-white silk and diamond flecked glow
already having heard your endless applause
already having glimpsed Your Face, I’m free to be.
So, put the top hat of Your Love on me
so others can see just how tall You really are Lord
I wanted to live it from, not about You-to be a symbol not a sign!
a metaphor not a simile! that’s me.
So you slipped me this “be in Him” card at some long ago party.
I still carry it—it just says, be “in Him”-so, that’s my calling card.
Now turn off any propaganda and make it art in me
made in this studio, in which we are in this forever-collaboration…

Even My Shadow shall Shimmer (a translation of mine)

Even my shadow shall shimmer: a modern monk’s prayer translated–
(“Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.”)———-
Make even my shadows fruitful in light, like Peter’s and Paul’s.
Make us tight. Contour us in Your Light-to where, we cast shadows, together!
In collaboration, we are, the might of Your casting visions…
the force and nuance of Your sight.
(You’re tender palms gather us as sparks, as we are, and share us where You will-
wherever you choose to fleck our beings! You cause us to specifically shine, as a song of flight to another world and time!)
And, make even my handkerchiefs useful to You-
lein me out, make me new, despite the fallings!
Fling me, where you will-and,
the handkerchief of my being-flutter it, where You wish.
Call, the gesture of who I am in You, to that particular spot of wistful landings-that resonate receptive space
in which i was meant to be grounded, and call home.
Or, like the bones of Elisha still bringing
healing long after death, cause my marrow to be tomorrow!
And cause, the afterglow to tumble into more life.
So make me to overflow from the essence, without the strife, of trying to become..
or over-glow, in self excited expectation; instead, let me surrender into
true Glow of
the inner mechanics of Your incarnation.
You’ve formed within me-not based on my own performance-
the geometry of my own calculations-
but the glory coming off Your pleasure in coming into who i am.
So let me be satisfied with that specific shine.
And, make what I touch and what touches me
instantly Graced with Your tangible Presence, in practical ways seen and unseen!
And if this is too much to ask,
make me alone, a dwelling for Your Own private pleasures unseen—a
house for your personal enjoyments-a cup of hot tea in the midst of war;
a bubble bath on the battlefield!
The rest of what I am
is meaningless apart from Your indwelling Presence; so i say yes
to eating dinner, making home together, co-shimmering-regardless of me; so then again, make me
even more me, by Your being You, within us. Or else,
take me only to where You are; so we can live
uninterruptedly together in the endless shimmer
of Your Own expectations of us. The resonance of Yourself
is my residence, forever.
To be a disco ball-inside and out-despite myself, in that multifaceted bout,
that combat of shimmer,
reflecting, in the end, some Other, endless Glorious, Me.
Amen.

entering the day

Finding The Day! Today is the day that He has made, I will find it, and when I do, I will, perforce-by the nature of that discovery-rejoice! That is to say, when we find God’s intended day for us, we will be content and joyous. That’s how life works. You find His day, each day, or at least seek your way towards it; and when you find that meaningful intended day, you know His Pleasure. This is the day, which the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it! It’s a declaration of intent! We will do this. We will rejoice and be glad and content in it. And we declare that it is the Lord’s days we live as well. Go find the day of the Lord—that is the day “in Him”. Keep finding Him through all your activities. This is harder when sick or distracted, but He is always there—(lo, i am with you always); and He is always findable! But it is ours, to seek. We are told to seek, and then we are told we will find. So ours is to seek, His is to make Himself known and found. Peace as you seek! Be calm as you go about today! Practice staying in His inner calm. Calm is not joyless, it is centered in His Peace. Calm is un-rattled living. It is not detached! That inner teether is connected at all times-a constant living from Home with Him; resting already in the eternal space between the two of you-and by extension between The Father and The Son–this is where calm and joy reside. That’s one spiritual practice in this season, when outer pulls are many. Resting in Christ’s Calmness, and knowing His Joy!
